I prefer a mostly 'talking' plotline. If combat happens often it quickly loses the sense of danger. If combat only happens sporadically, it actually gets a meaning.

I would prefer to have a 80% jibber-jabber plotline and a 20% combat one. Mind you, 20% sounds like very little. If we had a 3 hour session it would mean 36 minutes non-stop combat. Due to the speed of online-combat, those 36 minutes could mean a LOT of enemies.

Perhaps even less than 20% of the time.
Depending on the storyline there could be days where the majority of the time is spent fighting and days where we fight nothing at all.

To me, the non-combat aspect and the events leading up to combat make the fighting actually more interesting than the fighting itself.
