I'm inclined to agree with Youri when he suggests a 20/80% split between combat and non-combat. The adventurers should not have to face life-threatening danger twenty-four hours a day. However, whenever the party is dungeon-crawling, there will be an elevated amount of combat. Very few of the encounters should actually be critical battles though (in where it is very probable that at least one member of the party dies).
Though, and I'm firing way off into left field here, dungeons will not be 100% combat 100% of the time. There are other dangers in caves, ruins, strongholds, and lairs that are far worse than a group of bad guys to fight.
With major plots in mind, I am thinking that a balance of 20/80% will be good. That would just be the template, though. D&D is seldom linear, and if a group wants to find a lot of combat, it should not be very hard, given the geography of Faalor.
