Ya, your 250hm fighter can probably bust open a trapped chest and live to tell the tail, but it's not what he's there for. Stuff like that, yes, there should be some sort of consequence.

If a mage casts a fireball and smoked half the party, yes, there should be a consequence.

That's one thing I started to dislike about my DL campaigns... people just went ahead and di whatever they wanted. I'm fixing that of course (lots o'traps this time) but I find that it ruins the reason for making a rogue... we may as well all make fighters.

there's no harm in making 1,2, or even 3 characters to have waiting in case your first one dies... I remember in PNP D&D that I used to tear up my player's character sheets if their character died... he's dead!!!!! too bad!

I dunno, I'll play either way cuz I like to play, but I'd love for people to FINALLY be scared to do thigns they know they shouldn't.
