I guess my idea is evolving some. Basically, instead of the basic equipment everyone gets (I'm not really sure I want everyone to start with any potions or any armor above normal clothing, for example, I'd like to customize it a bit. It seems to me that some of the characters would have access to more gold at the start, and some would have access to "healing herbs". This way, I could automate things with a few choices: "My character is richer than most", "My character has additional training in his/her class (say almost to the next leve in XP)", "My character owns a collection of scolls/potions/bandages, whatever" and give you guys a choice without me having to worry about these kinds of details when we start. Just a thought.
