I like the idea of customization based on character. It will also help it hink balance out the parties more and make it seem more like these are regular people who are thrown into adventure, rather than like " I am gorflag mighty adnveture hunter, behold my vast array of pre arranged adventuring material!"

just my two cents. do you want us to email you our thoughts on our particular characters?
