*With a backpack slung over her shoulder the mediocre-looking young woman slipped into the lodge to let her eyes skirt about the surroundings that she might soon get used to. The old cabin in the hills was hers; she would not live in an apartment.*

*Luckily her mother had left her enough money to both get her through college and allow her a beautiful place of her own, surrounded by land that would remain untouched. She loved the earth as her mother had loved it, and she would carry on that woman's legacy. She shouldn't have gone so soon, but she made a difference in the world, she told her daughter, and when it was time for her to go... it was time for her to go.*

*She would live on for her mother, for all that she stood for. She would search as her mother had searched, for someone to quench her lonliness, but she would search humbley and not be surprised if she never found one. Her mother was lucky to find one, but love was complicated and society made it impossible for happiness and a normal life to co-exist, and the daughter of the sun needed to remain detached. She would fulfill dreams. She would be more successful. She would make the sun proud.*
