Getting a chance to hear the very first AT40 show, I notced that even the number one song got a jingle sing rather than a drum roll. In fact their were the more number sings then their would be in the future.

Acually I have noticed that countdown in formats outside of CHR and AT40/20 don't use drumrolls.

'American Country Countdown' has done well without the drumroll, and so has Christian AC '20 The Countdown Magazine.'
