Actually, that happened a few times in the early years of the show. For instance, I believe for the first two weeks that "Where Are You Now" by Synch, the second verse was cut out.
And in the first few months of the new AT40 (the A/C version), some songs actually had the second verse repeated! This happened to several songs on the Top 60 of 1998, probably because they didn't play any "extras" (on the year end shows, there are usually one in each hour).
