I remember many instances of radio stations "misplaying" AT40.

For example, I was taping the 1989 year-end show, and at one point, a portion of the program was played our of sequence. I had to buy more tapes to have the portions recorded in the proper order.

Also, my AT40 station in mid-1988 didn't play the first three shows hosted by Shadoe Stevens (luckily I heard two of them on Armed Forces Radio). In one of those 3 weeks, they played hour 1 of one show, followed by hour 2 of another show; upon the conclusion of hour 2, they went back to playing music (!), so there was no Top 20.

And what about our local AT40 station in mid-1990? At one point, you heard Shadoe introducing the song at number 24, followed by the first minute or so of the song, and then... Shadoe introducing the song at 24, again. The cycle repeated about 7 times. Shortly after that, the station (fortunately?) cancelled AT40.

I remember also a program in late 1987. The show began with Casey playing "I Think We're Alone Now" by Tiffany, as the previous week's number 1 song; but listeners could't enjoy it, because the record skipped during the song like four times.
