I thank Andrew for the information. I did not know that Kris Kristofferson peaked at 2 on the AT40. As luck would have it, I had just begun listening to the yearend 1973 after the 1978 one. Having just finished the '73 one, I have but one question:

Why?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

It seemed that the song was just out of place!! Can anyone that was alive during that time (I came alive on 5/26/73.......and guess which song ascended to the top that very day :) ) tell me how that song's popularity measured with other songs from that time period, particularly Roberta Flack's, "Killing Me Softly" and Jim Croce's "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown", the #3 and 4 songs of 1973, respectfully.

To be a top ten song of the year is indeed quite an achievement! However, it just seems unreal to me that Kris Kristofferson had one of those songs for 1973 and Billy Preston didn't. Though from the lyrics of, "Why Me', maybe Kris and Billy can get together and redo the lyrics to, "With You I'm Born Again"!
