Subject: 2AM PORTRAIT

When two am rolled into view
and I could taste your sweat on my lip
and hear your deep breathing in those
beautiful rythms,
I grew distracted.
Your family portrait hung
over the wall
and I was beyond disbelief
when I stopped and thought
of just what boy
I had nestled in my arms.

How did I get there?

When did time
pull me from
the existence I knew
and place me here
ever so gently
so as not to disturb my world?

I am left with confusion.

But the boy sleeping next to me is beautiful.
And I AM here.
In this different place.
And though I have loved before
I love again.
