yeah, i know the title looks as though it is misspelled, but it is not, as you shall see.


late october
joyous day
youthful children
masquerade

i watch them laugh
run door to door
as pillow sacks
fill ever more

i throw candy
into a bag
a witch thanks me
an adorable hag

sweet love's the same
as now i see
'tis meant for the young
but not for me

the children knock
rewards soon follow
but my bag is empty
and i'm left hollow
