An excellent point. I'm all for criticism, and I often ask for it. I feel that's why we are here, to help one another. I'd rather have someone pull apart a piece of mine and tell me what parts they would have altered, or what they feel didn't flow well, then have a hundred "I loved this" responses. I can happily take that any day. Yet twice I have asked for "constructive criticism" and gotten very nasty unconstructive replies, including one where a poet told me to "flush it" about a piece. Perhaps I have offended someone and they wished to offend back, perhaps someone just doesn't like me, but whatever the reason, it was uncalled for and cruel. As I said, I'm all for critisicm, provided that when one is writing it, they take into account their fellow poets feelings, and tailor their words to those... but remember, not everyone *asks* for criticism, and those who do need to learn how to take it with grace.
That's all for my 2 cents. ;-)
