I need to leave behind the bed we slept in
my memory of your eyes
and the perfection of how our bodies fit-
I want to turn off my love for you
as I felt you slip from me over the past months . . .
You were the man I was going to marry
the love that only a few lucky people find
and somehow we let the distance set in
HOW THE HELL DID WE LET THE DISTANCE SET IN?!
My mind is tired of craving you every moment of the day
and I don't know if I'm strong enough to get through this
without you
you are the only one who knows me at all-
God, I love you-
In the big picture,
two years is only a small piece of the puzzle,
but I would have stayed forever
if I wouldn't have felt you go.
I wake up each morning and die silently
go to sleep each night
sobbing into my pillow
alone
terrified
this wasn't supposed to happen to us
we agreed
but it did
somehow love wasn't enough
for either of us.
