resignedly i tuck thee in
stroke thy locks with sweet remorse
our day is done, the sun has set
with a new day coming there's little discourse
my eyes blink wetly, my mien sags
as i bend to kiss thee one last time
'tis bittersweet, the remembrance of
our love too soon gone past its prime
tomorrow morn you shall awaken
