death now claims my soul
though my person yet survives
now there is but one
left of two young, hopeful lives
one flies through the world
aloft'd by love's gossamer wings
uplifted by the song
which the world eternal sings
the other lies coldly in woe
freezing in misery, hoary with frost
a tear frozen on his cheek
weeping alone for perceived love lost
now i wander this black earth
as but a carapace
this shell now emptied, perhaps i can
the pains of this world unfearing face
