A book you might enjoy reading is THe Coming Economic Collapse by Stephen Leeb PHd" on 19:51:56 10/13/07 Sat You have lived your whole life surrounded by energy cars etc . MY husband and I come from rural areas in wa and Id we lived without power compainies , refrigeration etc, they did not even have power in rural areas until they built grand coulee dam in the places we lived. also any family who has done any camping can certainly survive without a bunch of appliances , electricity etc. Even now we are without power and water up to a week or so at a time due to storms. WE get along just fine . we cook on our wood stove also heat the house with it . We can collect rain water for sanitary purposes. and we always have a huge supply of bottled water on hand. WHen we camped we boiled all the water from streams to cook and drink . IF worse came to worse we could collect rain water from the roof boil it on the stove and drink it . You have always had refrigerators etc however my husband and i lived our early childhood with out even that convienience . so do not think you are the great I am when it comes to survival .
