That being said, the current system excludes 47 million people and under-insures for an unestimated number of people like the person in the article. We also pay more for this system than any other industrialized country, so it has to change for everyone to have access to health care. Take out private insurance companies (that are responsible for rationing care) and adopt a program like the VA, Medicare or Medicade that is a single payer public insurance. I believe Universal care is just a privatization of single payer.
