Well, I'm a little confused by your statement. While the Constitution doesn't address it specifically and absolutely, it does imply that a sitting president cannot be indicted. That's been the legal interpretation and policy at the Justice Department for many years now. As you allude to, that's why Ford pardoned Nixon after he resigned...nothing new there.

With the above in mind, Trump obviously cannot be forced to testify before a grand jury. If he receives a subpoena to do so he can voluntarily comply, or he can tell them to pound sand and refuse. Should he choose to do the later, there is nothing that any government entity can do about it...except Congress. Got it?
