I have a beautiful grandson who just celebrated his first birthday, and the memory of the grandson that I lost some time ago. I have children and grandchildren I love, I have "adopted" children and grandchildren that I love, and I have cyberfriends that, in a way, I love.

I miss your presence, infuriating as I may find it at times, as I miss Joe Average and SG. I'm happy to see that Mike A. has surfaced again, and I even saw a post the other day (on another board) that ended with RKBA.

I'm not unhappy, but I am worried about the kind of future we'll be passing on to our grandchildren. I'd hate to think the war on terrorism will drag on as inconclusively, and do as much damage to our society, as the war on drugs has done and is doing. I see no reason to suspect that "solutions" that haven't worked in the past will suddenly start working now.

If my opinions are wrong, I've no objection to reading about why they are wrong, but I have always found it intolerable to have my honesty and my convictions questioned, and I become rather heated when my patriotism is questioned.
