Subject: Good Lord!

Is this the way Bush talks at all his campaign stops? He sounds like Hitler more every day!

He thumbs his nose at virtually every country in the world, while brandishing our "values" which he doesn't explain.

He perpetually sucks up to the military, practically groveling, in thanks for them doing their job.

He makes huge allegations directed at nobody; whips up a sort of frenzy on his own rhetoric, and sets the stage for absolutely no counterpoints. In Georgia, today, had anyone said anything against the flow, they would have probably been skinned alive by the crowd.

What I'm seeing are not my values. What I'm hearing are not my values. I'm tired of this guy constantly misrepresenting the ideals I hold in high esteem.

Codoleeza Rice led a cheerleading session for Bush today -- just plain scary. Rumsfeld giving a political speech about restructuring the DoD which has, by all indications, really done a darned good job.

More and more, Bush is pushing us into being something he wants us to be, while ignoring and discounting the real values that have made us what we are. Every other word smacks of division, of conflict, of hate. These are not my values.

Clearly, international action and consensus is needed to deal with the sociopaths who think there is no way to do anything except through force, but that seems hard when Bush seems to take that same road; only he does it in the name of some higher ideal he has adapted. Sure looks like a religious war to me.

So far, Bush has given no indication that he comprehends the "values" he likes to throw at the rest of the world. There is no indication that he realizes that a large part of freedom is personal choice and determination. I do not expect the president to presume to speak for me in any matter. He can tell us where he expects to take the country within his powers, but it is not his job to represent his personal beliefs as mine. When he does this, he is taking my freedom from me, whether he realizes it or not.

I have no problem with initiating clandestine and overt actions against organizations which will kill and maim without due process -- or any process other than their own daydreams, but I don't want us proceeding in that same way. I want us to proceed with clear intent and clear objectives and with defined grievances.

I guess the day care generation eats this stuff up. Maybe they need somebody in control.
