I didn't have any trouble understanding that the USA Freedom Corp. would be a group of citizens who worked to help their fellow Americans with whatever was needed. You know, kind of like Habitat for Humanity, the Peace Corp, you know, kind of like a service thing. Of course, you can be frightened, it's probably a valid reaction to the unknown.
You'll probably be fine once you figure out that there wasn't any danger.
