Subject: Still moving along

I haven't been around the boards much because I've been dividing my time between learning how to write and actually writing. Natural ability just isn't enough, I found.

The learning took a few months and involved a stack of books. The actual writing began with an attempt at something named 'Godeater'. I started work on it last May. By September, I learned about the other hobgoblin: plotting. I abandoned Godeater and started an unblemished story called 'Legend of Chun'. The first draft is almost finished. 60k words of 85k projected. In a couple of months the finished draft should be ready.

Given my long disappearance and noncommunication (I tend to get tunnel vision, and I do pay for that often enough) I completely understand if neither of you particularly care about this. But I'll ask you to be first readers anyhow. If you're interested, I'll mail copies of the draft to you and you can evaluate.

If I can get some publishing cred, Paco can happen. From what I've learned so far, it would have been nothing but a hobby horse for us otherwise.

I'm still wondering how on earth I can collaberate. Some people just can't do it (like Koontz) and it's harder still without a hard outline. I'm just not a hard outline friendly writer.

This stuff is hard, hard work.

Hope you guys are doing well.

Cheers
