First of all, it is not me who unequivocally supports the massive social welfare society that has been set up.

But I have no problem if society removes a child from their parents if their parents are abusive, or drug addicted.

Isn't that what you guys strive for with the social services departments?????? Or the child welfare departments???

I had a children's lit professor tell us that he thought it was his job to raise the children - not the parents. He wanted them at 18 months - told us that was inevitable. He is also the one who made me see that the state (and he was the state) thought they had a right to raise my kids. And there it is. The educators - they are the ones who think parents are caretakers of the state's children. Isn't that what you believe?

I believe in protection. Period. I don't want to read in the paper that some idiot parent killed their kid while under the supervision of the child welfare department - who by the way, does a pretty crappy job.
