Wish somebody would get the bright idea to organize a general strike calling for the government to arrest Enron and WorldCom Execs, or to rescind the "Patriots act", or to have another look at the Pentagon budget and consider whether all that money is really needed for defence, or a million other things. I think 9/11 would be a good date for it. Wouldn't it be something if millions of people across the country refused to go to work that one day as a protest against "Fill in the blank".

I have almost no confidence that the government has any interest in doing what's right for America. Whether it be in foreign policy, domestic, environment, health, economy, social security, or whatever.

I wish I'd never heard of Noam Chomsky. His book, "Understanding Power", is so depressing. The facts he presents are too well documented to deny. Sickening. If you haven't read it, I advise you to not read it, but if you want to anyway, it's available online. Or it was anyway. Wish I'd known about the online site before I bought the book.
