Subject: You both have good points, here's my two cents
In reply to: MJ 's message, "Re: School Vouchers" on 00:38:06 07/01/02 Mon

My opinion is that we have very little parenting going on these days. Most parents today were raised on Television and intern raise there children on television. MJ's points about e-school are good but it is only a small percentage of parents who care enough to teach their children.

Vouchers IMO would be good in some sections of the country where Affirmitive Action has diluted the school system to the point that education is impossible. I live in GA and have a constant battle with the school system. The only way my kids will ever get into college is for me put them in a privite school but I cannot afford that. The only way my kids will ever get a good job is to leave this area.

Will vouchers help me? Probably. At least I could get my kids out of the mess that is the public school system here. Would they get a better education, I don't know but at least they wouldn't have of put up with the reverse discrimation and shitty attitudes.

Is it right for the country? I don't know. Would it help me. Yes.
