Subject: MJ, I hate to bring you some bad news...

This is a post I wish I'd never have to write, our friend Hal passed away last Friday...

I just spoke with his daughter, he suffered a heart attack, it was quick.

I've known Hal from all the way back to the early days of the MSNBC boards, we struck up a friendship that you thought we knew each other for years.

He had a great sense of humor and drove the conservatives nuts, especially when anyone dare question him on insurance. He was well read, well informed and when he wrote it was from his heart. He always could handle a debate with the best the other side could put up.

He was Veteran of the Korean War and was a Proud American who was not afraid to stand up for his beliefs, few men can say that honestly, but my friend Hal was one of them.

We would speak by phone every couple of months, the boards were hardly a mention, our lives shared a lot, the ups and downs of the everyday existence of life.

For the religious types, offer a pray, for others offer a toast, Hal would enjoy that.

In closing, take care my friend Hal, you were a class act.

TC
