Subject: What does the JD know that we don't?

Watching Ashcroft drool over Walker, I wondered aloud why we need his scalp. Another poster wrote some stuff I ceratinly hadn't heard. For example, Walker said that he believed destruction of the WTC was justified? Has anyone else heard this and if so, where?

Is it possible that Walker can get a fair trial? It seems to me that Ashcroft has completely compromised that process.

I don't condone Walker's actions, but I think we need some scale in the argument. Seems to me that he was in the wrong place when things started happening and I doubt he could have done much about it.

I just don't see why we need his scalp and I don't see how the government can be so sure about the whole thing when it didn't even know until now if he was a POW, criminal, detainee, or nutcase. God, I'd rather see the guy walk than see the government making up a bunch of absurd charges in the context of war. Bad law is way more harmful than one idiot playing war with a bunch of other idiots.
