Subject: Rough Day....

Watching the repukes invent a hero out of Reagan; revising history; no mention of Iran-Contra, no mention of huge cuts in social spending, some mention of huge deficits which was countered with some insane observation that Reagan "...dismantled the Soviet Union." How do you defeat a party which has embraced (maybe even copyrighted) all the ethics talk, but absolutely has no concept of its walk?

I've given it alot of thought and I admit, my dislike for Reagan was visceral when he first campaigned. In all ways, he personified that good old boy phoniness so prevalent in places where they screw people just because they can, but they always smile about it. Seems to me, that style has overtaken the republican party, and now, its the whole damned House and Executive Branch!

Used to be, one could avoid that supreme meanness and fake love by staying out of church, but now it is everywhere. God, you can almost see Ashcroft drooling over his chance to get Walker who is, at best, a lesser threat.

Yesterday, Bush almost melted when addressing the shelving of his obscene "stimulus" package. He is right, we do need a good package, his isn't it, but he would rather villainize the Democrats that understand the problems with the bill.

So, he and his party continue to address the business of the party (not the country) with blunt force and meanness while talking cooperation; stumping the adoring crowds and creating the impression that he is meeting the wills of huge multitudes. God, I'm betting they'll be doing prayer circles before its over.

I don't trust people like that. I never have, and now they have taken over. I guess I doubt they can do anything right because they have no moral fiber, no ethics, and no real strength. They are driven by fear and you never want to be tied in with anybody who is driven by fear.
