What would we do if there was no internet? How many of us would still do
pageants? put our kids in pageants? Love being pageant moms? What would we do
if the friends we cherished were not rumored to be bashing our children
because of a pageant win, if there were no internet to leave horrible
messages? Would we love our kids the same? Or be just as proud if the crown
was in the trophy case for family and friends to see and be so proud of our
little ones? Or would it just not be the same if their face was not on a big
HUGE banner all over the voy boards? What would we do with all the time we
waste yacking and bragging and even sometimes bashing on the egroups all day?
How owuld we sell our old pageant clothes if there was no Ebay or yahoo or
Lil' Miss ya-da-yad consignment site?
What would we do if we spent more time out on the town and less time in
Geocities?
As directors how would we get contestants if we couldn't offer free guestbook
drawings nd photo contest to win fees off, WIN being the operative word?
WOuld we have to just do a great local pageant and hope the word spreads
because we actually have more time to shower our Royalty and make them feel
special? Choose the overall best contestant, not the one who will draw bigger
names?
Just wondering what we all would do if even for one day there was no
internet, no egroups, no message boards and guestbooks no BIG OL' BANNERS.
Would we still be pageant friends? WOuld we wish each other good luck and
mean it? Would we cheer the loudest for each other's kids like we used to
before the boards and all the websites? I don't know, but for one night, I'm
going to find out. My 2 year old just asked me to hold her, like a baby and
put her in a blanky. I'm going to do it because in March she will be 3 and
already she does not want me to kiss her in front of her friends. Just tired
of reading all the bashing and fussing and of course of being bashed. So for
tonight I am going to remember what it was like before. WHen I was a kid,
when I did pageants way back in the 90s, lol. When friends were friends, and
I can't recall any big names and all the dresses for kids were off the rack
and not more than 100 bucks.
Good night ladies, see ya tomorrow
