1.At night, take out dinner to defrost (if the listed item cannot be found, take an alternative meal out)
2.If the dinner meal is already out and defrosted, but it in the refrigerator (do not let it sit out all night)
3.Shift manager does the refrigerator log (PM and AM)
4.Thermometers in kitchen fridge are on top, usually in corner, pushed back. The kitchen freezer has a long thermometer on the side when it is opened. The small deep freezer in the garage is usually somewhere on the right. If not, it may have fallen to the bottom. The bigger deep freezer's thermometer is on the right. The garage fridge thermometer is round and inside, usually on the bottom. The garage fridge freezer is flat and hooked to the bar.
5.Snacks and electronic log should be set out on copy machine in the morning
6.Clients should sign med book BEFORE receiving medications
7.iPods and other electronics (for S.C. And A.B.) should be set aside and given once the electronic log is signed
8.Meds should not be interrupted to get allowances, items in closets, other
9.T.K. Gets a nose spray and asthma pump set aside
10.Spray, Pump, Med Book, iPods will all be set out on office table
11.Do not be rushed to give meds, but do not be late and take too much time
12.Start meds when everyone is settled in kitchen
13.Other staff will take over for 1:1 care when you are doing meds
14.That staff will clean the kitchen and start the dishwasher in the morning


DO NOT DO IN THE AM LIST

1.Sharps (razors, tweezers, etc.)
2.Personal items in the front closet (candy, etc.)
3.No entering each other's rooms
4.No swearing (give cue to stop) If it continues, give a consequence and walk away
5.No excessive travel between two sides
6.Limited borrowing (residents should be prepared for the morning the night before)
7.Don't completely enter residents' rooms (leave them their private space)
8.If you have to enter the room at night, call the other staff to be a witness to what you are doing
9.NO TOUCHING, NO DRESSING PUBLICLY, MAINTAIN APPROPRIATE BOUNDARIES




Suggestions
(Not Rules)

1.Place all items residents will need in the morning out and accessible (i.e. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, tampons if needed)
2.Take out E.C., T.K. D.K.'s hot irons out and place them on towel table for their use (put them away before going downstairs) Place all other hot irons in the grooming area on the other side
3.6:35am lock all hot irons into hygiene closet
4.C.F. And J.G. Need time to get ready in the morning and need help to hurry up and get ready. Should not come down past 6:45am. That deserves a consequence. If they come after meds are distributed, it deserves a consequence.
5.Make sure residents have made their beds and cleared items off the floor to look neat
6.If C.F. Swears excessively, say “C.F., watch your language.” If it goes too far (and argument), give a consequence.
7.Make sure office is locked when girls are downstairs, all doors locked after counting meds
8.If residents are still up watching movies, etc. they must ask permission to finish


SICK PROTOCOL

1.The only excuses to miss school are diarrhea, vomiting, and high temperature (at or above 100)
2.Call the on-call for over 100 degree temperatures
3.If the temp is 99.9, call the on-call and give Tylenol, and tell resident to stay in bed
4.Let the on-call make the final call for whether or not they go to school
5.If someone visibly looks very sick, you may tell them to go back to bed, and call the on-call
6.The thermometer is kept in the brown med cabinet behind Rhonda's desk. (Also has alcohol, band aids, non prescription first aid items)
7.RECORD what the temperature is
8.If they refuse even with a normal temperature, they are on non-compliance and they must wait for the manager or on-call


BREAKFAST

1.Do not allow residents to pick out food that is not put out, or change the menu
2.Staff will pour cereal and give out food (except for toast, bagel, etc)
3.Proper policy is to have residents line up at the door and received their breakfasts one by one
4.Try to have everyone come down all together, do not leave 3 girls upstairs while the rest are downstairs.
5.The shift manager will have to go down, and the other staff will stay with the straggling residents
6.Residents can have what is on the menu. If they do not want that, cereal is always an alternative.
7.With cereal, residents can have 1 piece of toast.
8.If they don't want what's on the menu, or cereal, they may have 2 pieces of toast.
9.They can also have fruit with anything
10.Place basket of fruit out in the morning and fruit that may be in the fridge
11.Put out water, butter, cream cheese, jelly (not Koolaid)
12.Cream cheese is only for bagels, not toast
13.NO PEANUT BUTTER IS ALLOWED in the HOUSE. If it is there, throw it out. C.J. Has an allergy to peanuts.
14.The milkman comes every Wednesday morning between 5am and 5:20am.
15.Encourage those who take meds to eat at least a piece of toast
16.They can freely have milk and juice


PRN

1.Tylenol, Ibuprofen, etc. can be taken any time as long as they sign the PRN sheet at the back of the med book
2.These are kept in the white med closet
3.The only person who can give meds is the person assigned meds for the day (shift manager)


ELECTRONICS

1.ALL ELECTRONICS SHOULD BE LOCKED UP BY 9PM ON SECOND SHIFT
2.Cell phones may not be signed out for school, only iPods
3.They must be signed out on the electronics sheet
4.If they have electronics in the morning, they should get a consequence after taking it back because they know they should not have it in their possession after 9pm


If there's a problem, call on-call! (at a reasonable time, for emergencies)
