Why can't Koreans
>assimilate into the general populace?

First generation Koreans do not appear to have any more or less difficulty assimilating into the general populice than any other Asian culture. Because the United States is mostly White, immigrants are more easily able to assimilate and are more welcomed into the general populace. Many immigrants live in neighborhoods where their are numerous other immigrants from the same ethnicity. Many large cities have a Chinatown, for example. The 2nd generations generally will assimilate into the general populace because they attend school into the United States and are enivitably influened by the United States culture. Notice that 2nd generations' voices, verbage, and attire are not singificantly different from Americans whose families have been in the United States since Colonial Period.

Regarding UBF Koreans, they have no interest in assilimating into the United States culture. This present problems because their goals are to raise up disciples from the United States. UBF Koreans are directed to concentrate on recruiting students from the local campus and find the best possible job. Otherwise, they have little to do with United States culture. When the UBF Koreans establish themselves financially, they may decide to invest in property, which requires slightly more engagement with Americans. In general, immigrants enter the United States to better themselves and have no concern for Americans or their culture. That is expected. UBF Koreans claim a calling to preach the gospel. Thus, they should follow Apostle Paul's example of being all things to all people, specifically Americans to American students. Instead, UBF Koreans expect the Americans students to be Koreans.

Why are they so
>full of hatred for white Americans?

UBF Koreans do not hate White Americans, they find us inferior. Specifically, most UBF Koreans believe that they are more faithful, sacrificial, priestly, and holy Christians than White American Christians. Thus, UBF Koreans come to the United States with a prayer topic to restore America to a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. UBF Koreans claim that Americans have largely lost desire to serve Christ and that they (UBF Koreans) have desire to serve Christ. Thus, UBF Koreans think that they should be Bible teachers to American students in order to restore the desire to serve Christ in the United States. UBF Koreans ignore the fact that their are more long-term American missionaries serving worldwide from any other country combined. They also ignore the fact that Americans gave their lives to preach the gospel in Korea. To be specific, UBF Koreans ignore the influence of all Americans accept for Sarah Barry, the cofounder of UBF. If you listen to UBF Koreans, you would believe that Sarah Barry is the only American that ever had a significant gospel preaching ministry in Korea.

There is much evidence that UBF Koreans display if not hatred than racism toward African Americans. African Americans are not desirable to UBF Koreans. In general, Nonwhites, foreign students, and nonstudents are not desirable to UBF Koreans unless they cannot recruit any White American college students. Even though many UBF chapters are located within neighborhoods with a poor population that has plenty persons to whom the gospel can be preached, the UBF Koreans ignore them and encourage their American recruits to do the same.

I have not had the opportunity to work with UBF Koreans at a jobsite. But, based on my experience in the UBF environment, UBF Koreans will place loyalty to each other before honesty and integrity. Unfortunately, this characteristic occurs within many work environments in this world. However, those who claim to be Christians live by a higher standard in which all workers are treated equally. UBF does not live by Christ-centered standards.

In Christ,

PECAS
