Subject: Criticism Versus Condemnation

You know something I realized is all people have struggles and all people need to learn to handle them in a grown-up manner. I think ubf stunts people by demanding perfection and then condemning a person for being a sinner. But everyone is a sinner and a Christian is a forgiven sinner who's GROWING to be like Christ-we're not there yet. Even the apostle Paul wasn't there yet.

However, the criticism from ubf was harsh and condemning and also seemed to attack our old nature and stir it up-like in Romans 7. I've been out of ubf for many years, and I am on medication. I've noticed whenever I go off medication I have a very hard time dealing with criticism and separating criticism from condemnation. I've got to learn that when a person criticizes me, they are not condeming me. They are not saying I'm a bad person, but there are issues in my life that need to be addressed.
