Ok, so when churches ask for offering, are we to not give?

If leaders in that "church" believe they are not accountable, including financial issues, yes, we should not give.

But any real church has complete financial accountability. In the protestant church in Germany, for example, you are told every Sunday for which purpose the offerings are used. Usually there are two or three collections. They tell you exactly for which purpose each of the collections is used. For instance, one for the church building and one for a concrete project in Africa. You even have the choice how to apportion your offering among these collections. And the next Sunday they tell you exactly how much money was in each of the collections. I have never seen anything like this in UBF. They collect money for unspecific purposes and don't give a report on how the money was used in detail. Often the leader is the same as the treasurer, or the treasurer is the wife of the leader or a person who is a loyal follower and completely dependend from the leader.
