Thank you Amy, for challenging Miss Barry. You are doing something that UBF members ought do if they were Christians. But instead of warning her, they flatter her with names such as “Reverend” or “Mother.” It’s good that there is at least one person who is courageous and asks the right question. It’s good you are writing down her answers immediately.

Actually, what I would like to have is an authentic audio tape or interview, but we will never get this since UBF leaders refuse to be held accountable, give clear statements and answers and commit themselves in their words. One example of Kaleb Hong: He once tried to appease a former Korean member, Daniel (his former “best friend”), who became very critical of UBF, and suggested a talk. Daniel said that was ok, but he wanted to write down his answers and let him sign it in the end. Kaleb agreed. So they had the talk, Daniel wrote everything down, and send it to him asking for confirmation or correction in case of need. No answer. He wrote again with, since Hong had promised he would give his signature. Again, no answer. After sever weeks, when he confronted Kaleb again, all he answered was: “Why are you so bitter.” Daniel pressed hard, but it was not possible for him to get any official, signed statement from Kaleb.

So, writing down the answers immediately and making them available to members is the only thing we can do. Maybe this opens the eyes of some members.

The outcome of your interview was, of course, predictable. Some comments on her answers:

What do you think about abortion? Sarah: “Well, in my opinion it's wrong; I'm against it. But you know me; I never got married. I never had the chance.”

First, what has her opinion about abortion to do with whether she was married or not? The answer has nothing to do with the question. She also left open whether she thinks that abortion is a matter of opinion or whether it’s a matter of Christian ethics.

Samuel Lee is accountable to God if he did such things. He doesn't need to confess to you or anyone.

Of course we all know that this is the stance of UBF. Lee himself said “God will punish me if I do anything wrong” when the reforms tried to speak with him. This stance of complete unaccountability is enough evidence that UBF is a cult.

These are the kind of answers that we need to have black on white. This statement alone, that the church leadership is not accountable to anybody, would be enough reason to expel UBF from every Christian organization, like NAE.

Any UBF member who reads this, do you want to stay only one day longer in an organization where the leadership is not accountable?

Sarah: I don't know anything about those abortions.

Amy replied correctly: “You are the leader of UBF:” Could you imagine George Bush simply answering “I know nothing about the Abu Ghraib prison”. If there are such claims, they need to be investigated. Her not investigating these things shows she does not care. By the way, she has been informed in our letter.

Sarah: Samuel Lee is (pointing upward) in heaven now. You can ask him about those things someday when you get there.

This must be a heaven you can enter without repentance. Is she pointing into the right direction? Anyway, these questions are not about Samuel Lee, they are about HER church conduct and HER failing to act in the face of such serious allegations. She is evading to covering doctrine, hoping that Lee will cover for her sins. If Ms. Barry will not repent, she will join Mr. Lee at this place that you can enter without repentance. This is very sad.

Sarah: I did receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

There is one frightening word by Jesus in the gospel: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. ... Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”

What is the will of God? “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” That is the will of God. One those who do the will of God will enter the kingdom in heaven.

God does not want us to feed 12 sheep or to be a “spiritual giant” as a precondition to enter heaven. This may be nice, but there is only one precondition, which is repentance. When the criminal next to Jesus on the cross repented, Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” Only his repentance counted.

Only those who walk the narrow path will enter the kingdom in heaven. What is the narrow path? Is it a life of making 1:1 Bible study, of living according to the UBF man-made rules and in obedience to whatever UBF leaders demand? Yes, this is a troublesome path. But there is a path which is even more troublesome, the real narrow path. This is the path of repentance.

Ths is true for Ms. Barry, for me and for you. Repentance is the easiest thing in the world, but on the other side the most difficult thing in the world. Maybe Miss Barry went so far that she can bring about no change of mind any more, like Esau. In the end, God’s Holy spirit is the one who can bring about that change. And it is possible that He will harden someone’s heart, as he did with Pharao.

I urge all UBF members to call Miss Barry to repentance and pray for her, if you believe that there is still a chance. If you don’t care for her soul, how can you care for your any other “sheep”?

Did you receive the 16 questions that were sent to you? Did you read them? Sarah: I don't know if I received them. I probably did receive them. No, I didn't read them.

Again, a stance of ultimate unaccountability, arrogance and utmost disdain for the writers of that letter who were members of UBF and had spent years their time, money and heart for years and decades in her organization.

I think we have done all we could. We don’t need to ask her any more questions.

I won’t write her another letter. It makes no sense, as the Bible says: “Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.” Of course, this also applies to women, but at that time nobody thought about female church leaders.
