Subject: Business and Economic Indicators???

I know it’s a little unusual to be listing a forum under two such diverse categories as (1) Religion and Spirituality and (2) Business and Economic Indicators, but we live in unusual times. The advent of the small computer might well cause the demise of the managerial class who have effectively ruled societies since the development of scalable economic structures during the Neolithic and Bronze ages. Scalable Economies were made possible through the invention of writing, and when a supervisory class arose who provided oversight to the new clerk class keeping track if these scaled up-enterprises, the supervisors quickly took control. After all, whoever controls the cash register eventually ends up running the store. I suspect that in the new economy, creativity will supplant managerial gate keeping as the most important asset for success. We’ve been headed in that direction anyway for much of the last five centuries.

Yes, but what does spirituality have to do with it? In the first place, world banking had its inception with the success of the Jewish tithe system. Up until that time, business traders didn’t even know that people kept a ten percent buffer zone in their finances. That opened up a whole new possibility. Interest on loans. However, business leaders were smart enough not to try and abolish the church. They merely co-opted it.
