all the messages with my name are from me. to clarify, actually the professor said he had heard about obama's muslim past but is not sure so i won't worry about it.

i always post with my own name and using low case letters because it's easier for me. i am not all that swift with computers and i have a slow dialup line and sometimes the letters don't appear instantly.

the messages don't upset me that much because people just let off steam. there are bad jokes here but there are bad jokes on other boards too.

maybe it should be required that everyone use a name but that is not up to me. i think it has gotten a little out of hand. i do respect kathy and peggy and mercedes and james m and david seymour and the others who use names more than i do the wells and the my two cents and that sort of thing.

i am concerned about the economy and gas prices going totally out of control. many people who have to drive to work will not be able to make ends meet. that is very sad while the oil companies make zillions. not really far. i do pray for our country. i know mccain will not fix things. i hope either clinton or obama will.

i pray our soldiers get the hell (pardon me) out of iraq as soon as possible. what a waste of lives, what a drain on families, for what?

i agree with peggy that tommymittens is not a racist and he was just being funny. i like tommy even if i don't agree with him.

my full name, by the way, is doris marie laurie. i do not post my email address because i got lots of spam, way too much. i also don't want someone who doesn't agree with me to get mad and harass me.

you can call me dumb doris if you want, i don't care. barbara once called me dumb doris because i did not get the punchline of a joke that jeff beck posted about a chicken and an egg in bed. not really my kind of humor but if it floats your boat then fine.

i hope that peggy keeps this board up in spite of the problems. the political stuff should get more interesting and i will look forward to seeing what others say.
