I don't believe Barack Obama is a practicing Muslim. He has professed many times that he is a Christian and I believe him. If you could have been in the crowd I was in during a rally near San Antonio this past Friday, you would have been amazed. There were so many people of different races, different religions, and different ages (and I'm happy to say a LOT of young people were in the crowd, including my son Chato. The Youth are our hopes for the future, and we need them to be involved with what happens to our country) and it was just so nice to see hundreds and hundreds of people all coming together for one purpose--to take back our country from the "haves" and the "have mores" and bring back our US Constitution--by rallying for a Democratic in the White House and a Democratic majority in Congress (hopefully, one day in the Supreme Court, too). I know that it will take LOTS of time--in fact, many YEARS, to undo the damage this White House has done to all of us, BUT, it has to start sometime, and NOW is the time.
What we have now in the White House is a man who claims to be a "Christian" but who is doing the Devil's work--illegally invading Iraq; making sure his Halliburton, Blackwater and Big OIL buddies make tons of money on the suffering and death of our beloved US troops and Innocent Iraqis; giving tax breaks to corporations and people who don't need them (and encouraging states to make up for tax breaks by raising "fees" on everything us Common people have to pay for. To me "fees" is just another way to say "taxes", but it sounds better that way to Republicans, so they don't feel guilty); trying to make DEEP cuts in spending for Medicare, Medicaid, SChip, Food Stamps, and any other government programs that help Common people that are just trying to survive and have a chance at a decent life; trying to destroy our US Constitution and the checks and balances of our government by making the president and his Administration accountable to no one.
No, Doris, I would much rather have someone (Obama, NOT Hillary Clinton--she has too much negative baggage, even though I still love Bill Clinton) who is willing to listen to different viewpoints and to talk with different people (Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Confusists, etc..) than to "stay the course"--a party of Hypocrites. THOSE false "Christians" are far more dangerous than any Muslim, in my opinion.
