Subject: True Champions Pt. 1 (Blaze)

{A Pheonix Promotion House Show begins. The opening pyros boom throughout the arena.}

Rip: Welcome everybody to another exciting night in the Pheonix Promotion! Just one night removed from a Blaze that saw the return of Nightmare, an unlikely pair crowned Tag Team Champions, and then in the final moment, NoBody attacking his partner, and World Champion, Phenom! Who knows what could happen tonight? In our Main Event, we will see-

{With that, Rip is cut off as a fog pours into the arena. It circles around the ring, and a gray, dim lighting overtakes the arena. “Sweet Dreams” hits over the PA system and the crowd begins to boo. Springheel Jack walks to the top of the ramp, his title belt draped over his shoulder. He ignores the booing fans and makes his way down to the ring, a fog following him down the ramp. He steps through the mists and into the ring, where he raises his hands to the sky. Fog pours out of his sleeves. He then takes a mic from inside his coat, lays the belt down at his feet, and begins to speak.}

Springheel Jack: As I said from the moment I arrived in the Pheonix Promotion, I am here for one purpose and one purpose only, and that is be a champion! And not just any champion, but the most Glorious Champion this company has ever seen! But when I looked around the Promotion, I saw only pathetic attempts at champions, men who brought no glory and no dignity to their titles. I knew I would change all of that, and I did, when I beat the hell out of Vic Vegas and became the Intercontinental Champion at Pheonix Rising!

{The crowd boos}

Springheel Jack: Vegas was a poor excuse for a champion. The man hardly even defended his belt, and he certainly brought no dignity to it. And yet look at what has happened since I became the Champion. I’ve not only made this tarnished title shine again, I’ve already defended it once! I truly am the most Glorious champion in the Pheonix Promotion today!

{Crowd boos even louder}

Springheel Jack: And next week, at Blaze, I am scheduled to once again defend this title against Kaz, a lowly tag team wrestler who thinks he can make it on his own in my ring. I’ll tell you the truth, Kaz, I didn’t have to take this match. Hell, I don’t have to defend my title again until Shockwave, if I didn’t want to. But I am a fighting champion, and I will defend my title against any and all who want it. But I especially took this match because tearing you limb from pathetic limb will be a pleasant romp for me, Kaz. I’ll use your mangled carcass to prove that I am the most dominant champion in The Pheonix Promotion today!

{Suddenly, “Wait n Bleed” hits over the PA system, interrupting Springheel Jack. He looks up to the top of the ramp, a look of both shock and anger on his face. The crowd roars as NoBody steps out onto the ramp and stares down Springheel Jack. NoBody is holding a mic as he begins the long walk down the ramp.}
