Subject: Blackout

[Two scenes are taking place. Smash and Rip in the restroom, washing their hands and talking about the current news involving Pheonix Enterprise, well Ensign is about to leave, only to be approached by a Pheonix Enterprise offical and son.]

PEO: Ensign?

EP: Yes?

PEO: I don't mean to interupt your time, but you see, I have a son, and he's such a huge fan of yours, and I was just wondering, if it's not too much trouble, the two of you can talk and share a moment? It would really mean alot to him, please?

EP: Does this him have a name?

(The father tells his son to stay still, walks up to Ensign, and asks for his ear for a private message. Ensign lends him his ear to listen.)

PEO: He thinks he's you. Doesn't want to be called my his real name, just Ensign Pheonix.

EP: Is that so?

(Before the father could reply, the son knew what he had told Ensign just the way he was acting, so now, he speaks up.)

PEO son/(Ensign Pheonix): It is so, so says yours truly...Ensign Pheonix!!

(After saying that, Ensign looks at the child, then at the father, and they all share a laugh together. The camera now focuses on Smash and Rip.)

Rip: What a year 2002 has been for us, wouldn't you say, Smash?

Smash: It's not even over yet, but your sure right, and who know's how 2002 is gonna end.

Rip: That's right. Hey Smash?

Smash: Yeah?

Rip: I heard that you conducted a interview with Ensign about Phenom and other things, but mostly about Phenom. I know your here in one piece, but how did it go?

Smash: Well, it's no surprise that Ensign goes ballistic when he see's or hears Phenom, but in our interview, he was calm and showed a great deal of confindence. It went very smooth and professionally.

Rip: Are you just tring to be nice? You didn't see or suspect any pretending from Ensign?

Smash: No, but if Ensign was, he sure fooled me, but I seriously doubt it.

Rip: Well then again, you are no Phenom, so I guess Ensign had nothing to be scared about.

Smash: Ensign doesn't fear Phenom, I'll give Phenom this, he is giving Ensign hell, but if anyone can ignore and move on from this assult from Phenom, it's Ensign.

Rip: You and "The People" are too kind to him. He makes a mistake, and you all are like, we know he'll come through and start all over, fresh and new, you can't be doing that. Ensign is not above others here, at best, he's equal with all, or less, but diffently not above all the rest.

Smash: Why are you so negitive when it comes to Ensign?

Rip: Ensign is a ride off of Phenom. Sure, the two have had the greatest battles of all time, but more would side with Ensign over Phenom, and that's not fair. Phenom helped build this empire, not Ensign. Ensign wasn't around yet.

Smash: Ensign, and yes, others stood too, but Ensign fought against the nWo, and helped bring it down. The nWo was going to destroy us, and Phenom sided with them, in fact, he was one of their leaders, so give Ensign some credit too. Ensign has been a International and World Champion too. Currently has the Excalibur Championship, making him the Excalibur World Heavyweight Champion, you can't deny Ensign's accomplishments. I know our beloved fans don't, for Ensign is their choice, he's their champion.

Rip: Look at what your saying, "their champion?" Please? Ensign stold that from Phenom. Phenom is that Franchise in this business, not Ensign, despite him calling himself the Ensterprise Champ.

(Goes back to Ensign, offical, and son.)

EP: So, there's two Ensign Pheonix's here, huh?

PEO son: That's right, two Enterprise and Excalibur Champs.

EP: Well, seeing that there is a double me around here, that can't be good news for Phenom.

PEO son: Yes, that's right. When it's all said and done with, when the smoke clears, both of us will be standing tall and proud over him, victorious.

EP: (Looks at the father and says.) He's good. (Father smiles and nod's his head, then Ensign turns to talk to the child.) Your right about that.

PEO son: Ensign?

EP: Yes?

PEO son: I have two questions for you.

EP: Ask away.

PEO son: Are you mad that there's another you, and if it's not too much trouble, can I have the honor of holding the Excalibur Championship belt?

EP: (Before repling back, Ensign smiles and laughs alittle.) Mad, no, how could I? I'm happy and lucky to have a double. Sure, you can hold it, but take it easy with it, okay?

PEO son: Do you really mean it? Your not mad, your happy and lucky and I can hold it?

EP: Of course, everything is cool. (Hands the Excalibur Championship belt to the child.)

PEO son: (Takes a hold of the Excalibur Championship belt, and raises it up high with a huge smile.) Daddy?

PEO: Yes son?

PEO son: Ensign, the name is Ensign. Do you have your camera on you?

PEO: I do, but don't you have to ask a certain someone if you can take a picture with the belt?

PEO son: Yeah, your right. Ensign?

EP: Yes, sure thing.

PEO son: Thanks, but can I have you in the picture too?

EP: It would be my honor.

[Scene goes back to Smash and Rip.]

Rip: Do you know if Ensign's still here?

Smash: The last I seen and heard, yes, but who knows, we've been talking for some time, he might of left.

Rip: I got to tell Ensign the truth, have him realize how it really is in the Pheonix Enterprise.

Smash: That's not a smart move on your behalf, for anyone's behalf on the matter, but then again, if you have a deathwish, it's by your doing, not by anyone else's.

Rip: Don't try to scare me. This is America, where we have free speech, so I'm gonna excercise that all over Ensign. When I'm done doing so, I'm gonna call or find Phenom, and tell him everything, and I know the both of us are going to get a real laugh out of it, I just know it.

Smash: Wrong choice to make, but if your gonna do it, who am I to stop you? You have apparently already made up your mind. All I can say is good luck.

Rip: Thanks, but no thanks. I don't need to be given luck by anyone, because I simply have it on my own. I'll see you later, bye for now, Smash.

Smash: Bye Rip.

(Rip leaves the restroom to search for Ensign, well the scene goes back to the three.)

EP: Just look at him, he's in his own little world with the belt.

(The two look at the child raising the belt and giving speeches like Ensign, both smile and laugh for the moment, at this pricelss and very special occasion.)

EP: Just to ask, what is it about me that your child likes about me?

PEO: It would be so easy to just say, everything about you, which is true, but I think he considers you to be his hero, a role-model for him to look up to, so in his way, he tries to relate, by pretending and being you.

EP: That means alot to me, for that, I am truly blessed and lucky.

PEO: I know that means alot to my son, but just to let you know, it really means alot to me too, so thank you so much.

EP: Your welcome.

(Has the two shake hands, Rip approaches.)

Rip: Well here's the man of the hour. I would like to have a word with you Ensign, can you step aside from the offical and child for a moment to hear me out?

EP: I don't see why not, please hold though. Hey Ensign?

PEO son: ( Eyes light up with a huge smile) Yes?

EP: Rip wants to speak to me for a while, so I'll be away for a while, but I'll be back. Keep having fun with the belt, okay?

PEO son: You bet, but please don't go? That bad man never has anything good to say about you.

EP: I understand, and thanks for your concern, but it will just be for a little while, trust me?

PEO son: If you say so, sure.

EP: Thanks Ensign.

PEO son: Your welcome.

(Ensign heads over to Rip, so they can talk.)

Rip: Fan of yours, Ensign?

EP: Yes

Rip: Why do you go on living like this? Your tring to walk in a legend's shoes that are too big for you, a shadow that you can't escape from.

EP: Why you ask?

Rip: That's what I asked.

EP: (Points to the child.) There's one good example. I never said that I wanted to be like Phenom, but only continue his legacy, that's all. We're enemies, but I'm not going to lie, I do have a great deal of respect for him.

Rip: Don't pull that sentimental crap on me, because your not fooling anyone. Phenom has got you right where he wantes you, there's no escape. Your beloved fans, friends, and love can't save you from him. Just give up, that would be the smart move to make.

EP: To you and Phenom, sure, but I'm not either of you, nor do I ever want to be like either of you. This is my life, not yours or his, and it is not for the taking either. I make my choices and live by them, and if that disappoints you and Phenom, then too bad, how unfortuate for you both. You seem to be very chummy chummy with Phenom, my guess is, after our talk, your going to share this with Phenom, right?

Rip: Of course, your right there, for once in your life.

EP: Well in that case, I have a message for you to send to him, personally from your's truly.

Rip: And that would be?

(After saying that, out of no where, before anyone could truly react to it, Ensign punches and lays out Rip. The offical and son run up to see what happen.)

PEO: Ensign, what happen?

PEO son: What happen, he got what he deserved, right Ensign?

EP: Yes and no. No, because I don't want to send you the bad impression where you can just beat-up anyone you want, that's not the way life goes, this is only a profession. Yes, because my actions have spoke louder then my words, because these threats from Phenom or anyone else that come my way, they'll get the message that I won't tolerate them, and if you push the envelope further with me, it's blackout for you.

PEO: What did he say or do to make you lay him out?

EP: He didn't even have to tell me that he was going to talk to Phenom after this chat we had, because this was nothing but a big joke to him. I don't take threats lightly, so the message is, watch out or it will be a blackout for you. Enough said for now, so...

PEO son: (Interupts Ensign.) Ensign?

EP: I was about to finish my statement, what is it?

PEO son: Can I have the honor, just this once, to finish your last line, please?

EP: Let me think about that for a moment, no just kidding, how can I say no to a true dedicated fan like yourself?

PEO son: Thank you Ensign, this is truly an honor and moment that I will never forget.

EP: Your very welcome.

PEO son: Enough said for now, so says...(The child stands in front of Ensign, raising the Excalibur Championship belt high, and the offical to the side smiling.) ENSIGN PHEONIX, YOUR ENTERPRISE/EXCALIBUR CHAMPION!!

[Scene ends with that being the last word, and fades out to the three all sharing a good laugh together, before Ensign leaves.]
