MEET MISS PHILIPPINES WORLD – ANNA MARIS IGPIT
She was born in the pristine-beach surrounded town of Panglao in the island province of Bohol, central Philippines on April 7, 1987 to Allan and Ma. Socorro Igpit. Anna has an elder sister and a younger brother. When she was still months old, the family relocated to Cebu city where Anna grew up.
She spent her early schooling years, from prep to high school, at St. Theresa’ College og the ICM sisters where as early in senior high the young Anna immersed herself in a community outreach program of teaching catechism to the children. in the slum areas and interacting with the lonely men and women in the city’s home for the aged. Anna’s concern for others truly started at a very young age.
No wonder then that Anna has turned into a positive, determined and committed young lady. Nonetheless, she still finds time to enjoy playing with her pet Shitzu dogs.
Like most young girls of her age, Anna loves chocolates, R n B music and love songs. This BS Tourism sophomore student at Southwestern University in Cebu city also prefers reading inspirational books.
Before Bb. Pilipinas, anna enjoyed being the toast of her provincemates. she was Ms. Mandaue, Miss Bohol, and Ms. Talisay among other beauty titles she garnered.
She is into modeling as part time job, but looks forward to becoming an international flight attendant to fulfill her dream of traveling around the world and visiting all exotic places she has only read about.
Her motto in life is, “Live each day as if its last…: and this has inspired her to cherish every moment of her young life and has “become a better woman from experience…” she frankly confesses.
Anna will be off on September 1st to compete for the Miss world title on September 30th in Warsaw, Poland. We wish her our best.
BPCI Press Release
From MISS WORLD Website:
More than 100 beautiful young girls arrived in Warsaw, today, for the commencement of Miss World 2006. Sunshine chased away the rain clouds to provide a glorious backdrop to the arrival of the contestants at the city’s Okacie airport.
The world’s media and Miss World fans flocked to the arrivals hall as flight after flight brought contestants from around the globe for the start of the four-week spectacular that will take in the sites of Poland.
What to pack is always a consideration when travelling. But when one is spending a month in a foreign country with a schedule of events, galas and TV specials, this dilemma is multiplied to colossal proportions. For many contestants, the solution is simple – take more luggage, with the average number of bags being five. “I tried to
keep my packing to a minimum but it was impossible to chose,’ said Catherine, representing Northern Ireland. “I only brought three suitcases – which is pretty good going, I think!”
Australia was one of the first to arrive, today, after a journey of more than 20 hours. “It was a long flight but now that I am here it seems so exciting,’ she said. “It is good to meet the other contestants and hear about our plans. We have a fantastic month ahead.”
Excitement levels are rising as more girls arrive. Philippines could not contain her enthusiasm,
commenting: “I have been looking forward to this for months, I am so excited.” Guatemala was very happy to arrive after a 16 hour flight and was determined to “have the best time of her life in the coming month.”
El Salvador agreed: “After travelling for over two days I am looking forward to making many new friends and learn about the Polish people and their rich history.” Finland already feels at home in Poland with the weather being similar to where she left from this morning: “It is only a short flight and it feels like it is all happening now. I am so excited to be here.” Venezuela agreed: “I wouldn’t want to miss this for anything in the world. This is going to be the most exciting time of my life. I cannot wait.”
Today the contestants spent time getting to know each other and coming up to speed on their packed program for the month. On Saturday they will see some of the splendour of Warsaw’s old town, enjoy a Chopin concert in a park, before a grand fireworks extravaganza and light show at the Congress Hall. The highlight of the weekend will be The Miss World Welcome Gala at Warsaw Technical College, when the contestants will be officially introduced to Poland in a two-hour live TV special.
After spending three days in Warsaw, the contestants will fly to Gdansk for a week beside the Baltic sea to film the Miss World Beachwear final.

DR. ING JESUS ADOLFO GOPEZ: THE CAUSE OF DEBT IN FEATI University
The current President of FEATI University Jesus Adolfo Gopez was called a laughing stuff in this University because he can't make the school regain its popularity in the mid 50's and 60's. Dr Gopez always laugh the students and graduates of FEATI. instead of identifying the weaknesses and make a solution to the problem. He told "Mahihinang klase ang mga graduates ng FEATI" unlike in UP where he graduated . He always stress in his speech that he will make FEATI like UP in Quiapo. On his term, Dr Gopez was the first President who create an organizational chart that never been used in the Philippines school for the sake of his “barkadas” in high school and friends. For example of his hidden organizational chart, there was a VP for Academic Affairs, Deputy VP, Asst to the VP and Executive VP since the enrollment in this University was around 800 students in a year and decreases by 60 for every year.. Like Mr. Cesar Domingo who is the current Deputy VP, Department Head of Business Administration and Asst to the VP . But if you noticed, Mr. Domingo is a graduate of Industrial Engineer. There were many positions in FEATI that you only heard in the administration of Dr. Gopez like Dean Emeritus. Deputy VP and many more. For example, Arch Joycelyn Mananghaya, (a friend of Dr. Gopez) Dean of Architecture come to FEATI University ten times a month. She was very unkind to the Architecture students and her colleagues. She was among the highest salary. The administration spends money for his friends but there were no development in the school not even to increase the population of FEATI by 10%. This is the main reason why FEATI will collapse two years from now. Dr Gopez published good things about themselves in FEATI websites. They give awards for themselves. The FEATI University community embarrassed of these strategies especially the alumni who have been in the University for more than 30 years. The boosting of calling an engineer like Mr. Bernard Letrero (dismissed in Central College of the Philippines because of making money to his students) and a gay IE faculty, Mr. Cesar Domingo, and Ms Jovy Factor who were graduates of IE and Computer Engineering were using in their memos the word “engineer” and demanding to be called an engineer even they were not a license engineer. It is also understood that graduates of an engineer who did not passed the board examination can be called an engineer. Aside from that, the President is addicted to liquor since he himself has a big stomach when he assumed the Presidency of FEATI University compared to the position he handled in FEATI as a Director of Research. He was not a model to the youth since he has many wives. He allowed them to enter in the campus and used his authority. This was spreading to the learners and youth inside the University. The President should be the model and clean to the eye of the youth. Dr. Gopez claiming that he was a former classmate of the President of MIT, Mr. Reynaldo Vea. He spread to his colleagues that Mr. Reynaldo Vea has many failed subjects in UP. Dr. Gopez allowed only using the elevator for them but if you noticed this is a part of tuition fees of the students. This is the only school under the administration of Dr. Gopez that the students and faculty were not allowed to use elevators. There were no questions about his educational attainment because he always boosting his achievements once he has a speech in the University and telling to the creditors of the University. The output of his residency in FEATI tells that there is a constant decreasing in the number of student population and the University doesn’t gained profit. The management styles, immaturity, personal life, and misbehavior were reasons he was not acting as a model President of the University. The University should look also the College of Engineering, since there were many department head position created since there were 150 students enrolled. The management should hire a young dean to this college and not as old as Dr. Rogelio Panlasigue or Dr. Genaro Marzan since the department heads were doing the assignments of the dean. The current dean of engineering is not helpful to the college instead they add more problems to the college. The Board of Trustees should eliminate the position of department heads and create one coordinator to save the profit of the institution. To regain the University respect and increase the population of FEATI, Mr. Francisco Segovia and Margaret Segovia should observe and participate in the dialogue of students, teachers and parents and not relying to Dr. Gopez
