I believe being in the PL puts terrific pressure to create a strong out of conference schedule. I personally think the success/non success of teams like St. Joes will play a role in smaller schools getting higher seeds in the future. If SJ and the Zags do well, the committee will be more inclined to look at smaller/successful schools. If they fall early, it will hurt. Here's hoping Willard plays anyone he can next year with the hopes that in two years, when this freshmen class is primed, they will come East and play. Either way, it's obvious that there needs to be an upgrade in the schedule.
