Ok! Everyone can read a book and repeat what it says...
I know that.
I was refering previously at some airmanship procedures and/or protocole.
I feel (and it is only me) that when we action some switches we should always confirm the action/reaction.
If the ice switch was to remain open after the test you would find yourself with less thrust than what is displayed and should you have an engine failure at the most critical time on the most critical field(on the most critical A/C Hi!Hi!Hi!) you could get very very surprised with the performances...
That is why we are called professional pilots and we go the extra step even if not written in the book as such some time!!!!

Same principle with the flight control test prior to T/O, if your system are to fail, there is a large % of chances that it will happen when you go to the limit of the actuator. I was told by the chief test pilot at Bombardier once that it is important to ensure that the control are back to neutral when you have completed the flt control test. I notice a lots of pilots(F/O) not taking the time to wait for this to happen and verified it, they change the page as soon as they say checked after the Capt's call "rudder right".

Have fun guys...Yvan.
