Subject: People's Party of Australia

The People's Party of Australia (PPA) is a young political organisation started last year by myself and Allen Torrens. The PPA promotes a ground up democracy, as opposed to the ivory tower politics from the current Australian leaders.

We believe that the common Australian has been left behind by current policies and that most Australians have lost interest in politics. We'd like to help stop this.

We are not radical right-wingers, but we believe in the family, in farmers, in small business, and in moral leadership. We are not lefties, but we believe in stopping the extreme measures of economic rationalists and protecting the workers.

We believe that the "war on drugs" must be won! We believe that the GST should be taken off essential products. We believe that Telstra should not be fully privatised. We believe that Australia should be run by ordinary Australians - and not the current supposed elite. We believe in "fair" trade. We believe in increasing the minimum wage. We believe in providing a stronger education platform for all australians.

I, on behalf of the PPA, hope that the AAMPP can help to promote active debate on some of these issues.

Geoff.
