He was a little harsh, yes, but he just was protective, even if he didn't know the girl.

  • Once she got far enough in that her toes brushed the sand, she shifted off to stand - though extremely well-worn, the board was of high-quality and was obviously well-loved, evidence that she was a good deal more than an unskilled beginner. Her board tucked under one arm as she made her way up the beach towards him, she didn't speak until she was close enough that she no longer had to raise her voice. "I watch the news, but it's pretty tame out there." It was a bold matter-of-fact statement, not rude in the least bit, but far from timid.
