"I am sure you are perfectly capable of taking care of yourself out there and you don't need me treating you like anything other then a capable worker." He didn't want to baby her anymore then he himself wanted to be babied. Nodding deftly, feeling like he had handled the conversation well, he picked his pen back up and scratched in some numbers. "You wanna know the first update I am making to this place?"

It wasn't that she liked to be babied so much as she liked knowing that he cared enough to worry, and now here he was telling her that he wasn't going to worry, and she was just so frustrated with everything. This wasn't how things were supposed to be going and she hated that she had no control over any of it.
