She assured him gently, though she reached up to catch his lips once more for another kiss. Had she known his reasonning, she would have objected for sure - she would gladly sacrifice herself for him right now, because she knew that he would do it for her if their positions were swapped, and she wanted to do whatever she could to help alleviate some of this pain.
