So this is odd...
The painful realization that all has gone wrong

She headed straight over to the nurses' station and introduced herself as Kesi's sister-in-law - Zeke could pass for Kesi's brother and her husband - and waited impatiently for instructions. Blindly, she reached behind herself for Zeke's hand, still fighting tears and needing the support...

She had been rushed in earlier, after a brutal night. She'd been headed home from the park, having just spent a little bit of time with Jake - when Dylan had appeared out of no where. He'd done a good deal of damage to her before Jake had heard the noise and come over to inspect what was going on. Dylan, being the coward he was, took off..... Before the nurses could give her any information, Jake called out from just down the hall - his clothes were rumpled and blood was spattered in places, dark bags and stress lining his features and his voice. He glanced gravely at Zeke before wrapping Kali in a tight embrace. // She was so relieved to see him that she couldn't get any questions out - instead just rushed into his arms, tears flowing freely. She was pretty useless, hugging Jake for a long time before heading over to peak inside Kali's room - there were still doctors in there and they looked busy and she was scared to go in... // He sighed heavily and brushed a hand through his hair, glancing down the hall but not really noticing the pair of policemen talking to the nurses and a paramedic. She was off in her own little world, arms wrapped around herself as she watched her best friend through the small window - tears streaming, unnoticed, down her cheeks. // He glanced pointedly at Kali - silently hinting that she didn't need to know. "I was with her... We were at the park... When I left, I guess she hooked up with Dylan, then I went for a walk and eventually stumbled back on them..." She gave Zeke's hand a gentle squeeze before heading in wordlessly, trembling noticably... // He glanced to the other man with a soft sigh, already knowing what was going to happen when the cops reached him. She swallowed heavily as she followed her friend as she came into the room. her brow was furrowed though, and she only had one thing on her mind. "Where's Jake?" She choked out, tears in her eyes. Her face was bruised and swollen, her wrist fractured, and her trachea had been crushed and bruised a little, making her voice rough. // He frowned a bit, taking a step up to stand beside his friend, his arms crossed. Tears streaming down her face, she leaned down to kiss her friend's forehead, one hand playing delicately through her hair, voice soft. "Out in the hall... They're only letting one in at a time..." // He put up no fight, and no protest, simply stating that he had had nothing to do with this and ensuring that they talk to Kesi as soon as it was permitted. His grave gaze shifted to Zeke as he held out his hands for the mandatory cuffs - it was amazing that he could be so calm, but he had grown accustomed to such unlucky things... "Is he ok? He didn't do anything dumb? He's out there?" She questioned, forgetting Kali wasn't supposed to know, she just remember seeing him before she blacked out, and she didn't want him to have gone after Dylan, or anything that could get him in trouble. // "I'll let Kesi know your alright man, we'll get this straightened out." - He nodded again. "We'll get this taken care of..." A sigh escaped, watching his friend being taken away before he an a hand down his face. Without another word, he just nodded - thanks written on his features. The worst part about this was having to leave Kesi, otherwise he was doing okay about remaining calm - he had done nothing wrong... // She delicately smoothed her friend's hair, gaze tender. He didn't want to leave her, but he had to go talk to Kesi, with a worried look he headed into the room - soon enough explaining the situation to kesi - who was also crying in no time. He let onto the fact he knew, assured her Jake was worried about her and wanted to get back to her as soon as he could - before she insisted on him finding the police so she could clear things up. He came back out and went to go find a officer who was taking a statement from the ambulance driver. He explained the situation before he led the officer to Kesi's room, leaving them alone so he could go find Kali. She shook her head, tears running silently down her face. "I feel so bad...I got him in trouble..." She wiped at her eyes with her good hadn. "He could get in so much trouble..." From that, she just assumed that Kesi knew - or it slipped her mind that she didn't know. She shook her head and sighed softly, smoothing Kesi's dark hair - still oblivious to Kesi and Jake's relationship. "It'll be okay... They'll let him go, and he'll sort things out with his officer...
