Those are both excellent points, but I think the competition is less for dollars than for time. Living in the Metroplex tends to consume huge amounts of time and energy just going to and from work, and then there is the time consumed by all the various attractions that are not available in more rural settings.

I guess it means we have to be up to the challenge of making our activities exciting enough to be put on people's schedules ahead of going to the mall, playing video games and whatever else is happening, in order to fill the seats. I'm really wondering if our new arena will tend to be a ghost town like the "super pit" at NT.

Sports marketing is a challenge and our sports marketeers should be held accountable for the results achieved. If they have a losing record, maybe it's time to move on and get new and improved shills for our events.
