The Maverick Club is a Booster organization, there are many rules it has to follow. The Alumni Association is an alumni association, full of alumni and people who graduated and stuff. If Joe Alumin wanted to be in the Maverick Club all he has to do is pay make a generous donation ($100,000.00 ought to do it)

If Joe Alumin wanted to be in the Alumni Association, he needs to attend at least 12 hours (the very lowly limit set by the Alumni Association) of class as a fighting Maverick. Otherwise, Mr. Alumin is not Alumni and cannot join.
